Russia’s Southern Kuzbass launches coal face at Sibirginskaya mine

KEMEROVO, Sep 28 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Southern Kuzbass Coal Company, part of metals and mining group Mechel, has launched production at the 3-2-7-west coal face with reserves of 915,000 tonnes at the Sibirginskaya mine in southwestern Siberia, the company said in a statement Wednesday.

Investments in the launch amounted to 344 million rubles, the company said.

“The launch of the coal face will allow us to increase production of coking coal, which is in high demand at the market right now, in the near future. We will develop the second layer of the coal bed,” the company said quoting anaging Director Viktor Skulditsky.
